About Us

The Whangaparaoa Railway was first opened in 1992 by my father & mother, it first started as a hobby to become a full on business. The gauge of the rail is 15 inch
gauge and we have a fully operational to gauge steam locomotive which pulls three
passenger cars carring approx 20 adults.
Trading hours are from 10am till 4pm Saturday, Sunday, shool holidays and public
holidays. We take large bookings for childrens birthday parties, shcool charters and rail fan charters.
